A unique program offered in partnership with e² Young Engineers Brampton, who’s vision is to increase STEM awareness and educate the next generation of engineers and stem-related careers around the world using Young Engineers Edutainment methods, programs and systems. The program provides a hands on educational experience where students will learn mathematics and physical principles through intuitive study, develop their independent learning and improve their creative and constructive skills.

The Bricks Challenge program introduces elementary school children (ages 5-12) to the basic principles of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). By integrating basic arithmetic learned in school with an intuitive active learning process, children grasp a better understanding of the fundamentals of physics and engineering concepts.

Bricks Challenge participants learn about many different topics of classical mechanics, including the following: the laws of physics, centrifugal force, centripetal force, force of inertia, kinetic energy, potential energy, law of action-reaction, lift force, torque, leverage points, load distribution, force conservation, angular momentum and more. Students learn the necessary mathematical skills required in making the scientific calculations needed to build their models.

Bricks Challenge Objectives

  • Foster planning and time management skills
  • Encourage independent creative thinking
  • Develop one’s ability to analyze engineering processes
  • Broaden knowledge of laws of physics and various natural phenomena
  • Improve spatial recognition
  • Cultivate a sense of self-efficacy
  • Expand interpersonal communication skills
